Prof. Dr. Dr. Ralf Uwe Peter is first of all an experienced doctor, specialised in skin and venereal diseases. He also has additional qualifications in allergology, phlebology, proctology, and laboratory tests, as well as other skills such as laser therapy.
From Germany’s youngest medical professor to doctor-entrepreneur
At the age of 37, Ralf Uwe Peter was appointed Medical Director of the Departments of Dermatology at the University of Ulm and the Bundeswehr Hospital in Ulm, the youngest medical professor in Germany at the time. In 2002, the joint department was dissolved at the request of the university hospital. As a consequence, Prof. Dr. Dr. Ralf Uwe Peter decided to acquire a private surgical hospital and became a doctor-entrepreneur. He transformed the existing vascular hospital Dr. Berg into a dermatological-surgical centre (in 2005, the second MVZ ever in Baden-Wuerttemberg was founded by him) and managed it for 18 years as managing majority shareholder, the last four years, as sole shareholder.
From hospital purchase to sale via repurchase to renewed hospital sale
In 2012, he sold the hospital for the first time, only to buy it back when the acquiring group was itself about to become the victim of a hostile takeover by a larger group in 2018. Thus, he saved it from the takeover and then sold it again in 2020.
Prof. Dr. Dr. Ralf Uwe Peter is an expert in these kinds of transactions: he is familiar with both the problems and opportunities of hospitals and those of private practices and has himself successfully gone through the ups and downs of buying and selling a hospital with affiliated practices.

Andrés Klein, lawyer, Cologne, is active as a corporate lawyer both nationally and internationally. We have been working together for over 15 years. He prepared both sales of the hospital group in terms of contract law and, in the case of the second sale, drafted and negotiated the purchase agreements for four interested parties in parallel.
Jutta Klammt-Asprion
Expert in medical law
Jutta Klammt-Asprion, lawyer, Tübingen, is one of the most renowned specialist lawyers for medical law in Germany. Shortly after she gave up her job in the legal department of the District Medical Association and KV South Wuerttemberg and started her own business, she was already working for the founder of the hospital, Dr. Dagmar Berg, and after the takeover of the hospital in 2002, I continued the cooperation with her. For almost 20 years, she has been advising me on all matters of medical and KV law with the highest level of competence. Of particular note is a successful constitutional complaint filed by the hospital against a former competitor in 2003, which was formulated and advanced by her.

Sven-Ingo Peter
Expert for company sales and mergers (M&A)
Sven-Ingo Peter was a partner of the hospital until the first sale. He is familiar with all aspects of high finance and M&A as former Head of Global Capital Market Management at Dresdner Bank and former co-managing director of the Lazard investment bank, Frankfurt. Through several years of cooperation in the context of managing the Blausteinklinik, he has also acquired skills and knowledge for the highly specific hospital market.
