Skin damage after radiation accidents
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor incididunt ut labore et dolore magna aliqua. Ut enim ad minim Using the example of various radiation accidents of the last four decades, including the Chernobyl accident, it can be shown that the damage spectra, e.g. after nuclear power plant accidents, follow other regularities than after atomic bomb drops. In the foreground are contamination-related effects on the skin, which are described as cutaneous radiation syndrome and require completely different diagnostic and therapeutic algorithms. Therapeutically and preventively, the first priority is decontamination (removal of contaminated clothing, cleaning of the skin surface with lukewarm water with the addition of syndets), then followed by anti-inflammatory externals. In the further course, the treatment of chronic progressive radiation fibrosis is in the foreground.
